Adventures of a Space Bum was a great read.
The book reads like a series of episodic adventures across starkly different settings – Desert Worlds, Spa-like Utopia, Corrupt Cityscape, ects. The quick movement made it hard to put it down. If you like books with a big cast and a bigger selection of original settings, this is it. The funniest parts of the book are when Batson takes a few punches at modern pop culture through “legends” that the main character has heard about the semi-mythical “Old Earth”. I found myself chuckling aloud at a few points.
Space Bum takes itself more seriously than I expected – exciting and insightful, but still a lot of fun to read.
